The only combined SAT/ACT preparation program anywhere!
Is your child preparing for the SAT/PSAT or ACT/PACT? Do not let him or her walk
into the test "cold." Did you know that simply understanding the
concepts is not enough to score well on the SAT/ACT? Give your child an
edge to success. A major factor in achieving a high score is to know
how to TAKE this particular college-entrance exam. We combine test
taking strategy with as well as content review where needed.
The ACT is now being accepted on equal standing at the majority of East Coast schools. This is significant news for students who struggle with the reasoning approach of the SAT. It is strongly recommended that students at least initially pursue both tests in order to determine their stronger assessment.
The ACT differs from the SAT in multiple ways including the scoring and a different approach to "skipping" vs attacking questions. The content differs as well. The ACT, for example, includes science, trigonometry, and less direct vocabulary. There are many key differences that once understood, make a decisive difference in ACT and SAT success.
One of the most effective ways to prepare is to take actual tests and
to learn the strategies of test taking to apply in future ACT/SAT practice.
This course is a hands-on, practical lab highly effective for students
anywhere in their SAT or ACT preparation.
During the first session, students will experience a seminar of the
top strategies including pacing, scoring, and educated guessing,
followed by topic-specific strategies relating to the critical reading,
math, and writing portions of the test.
The second session will involve the administration of a full-length,
proctored SAT/ACT during which students apply the strategies discussed in
class. Families will receive a diagnostic analysis of the test results
through the mail or email.
This program shows you and your child where s/he stands in the SAT/ACT prep process.
Students should bring a brown bag lunch/snacks, drink, calculator, highlighter and two pencils to each session.
